REVIEW: RO RO’S

Here’s what The Monster likes about Ro Ro’s:  Just about everything.

It’s a tiny Hollywood strip mall restaurant with seven tables and zero ambiance.  It’s counter order and wait for your food.  It’s crowded.  There isn’t much parking today.  Despite this he likes it because…

It’s cheap, it’s fast, it’s tasty, it’s filled with friendly people.

This is all terribly important right now because The Monster keeps looking at the gentleman ahead of him thinking if the line doesn’t move fast the newspaper’s will have a new zombie story to chat about.  He’s that hungry.

As The Monster waits in line he already knows what he’s getting from the pictures gracing the window outside.  #4.  Chicken shawarma plate with rice, hummus, salad, pita and garlic sauce.

If you’ve been to Zankou (and really, who hasn’t?) or Gaby’s or any of the myriad Lebanese/Israeli/Med restaurants dotting LA you know the drill.

You might try the falafel plate or some grape leaves or a vegetarian combo.  Most people come to Ro Ro’s for chicken in one form or another.  Stuffed into pita, whole or diced.

Ro Ro’s does it well.  The chicken may not be the juiciest, the garlic sauce may not be the garliciest, the salad may not be tastiest, but it’s a filling meal that will absolutely leave you satisfied.

The Monster eats thankful that he didn’t gnaw off the man’s face in front of him.  That would have been nowhere near as delicious.

Why go?  The zombie apocalypse has yet to hit.
