Ke’e Grill is another in the line of Palm Beach (adjacent) restaurants serving a menu of seafood specialties (Leftovers, Samantha’s, The Food Shack, Captain Charlie’s) to a crowd of good looking altacockers fresh from the golf course and their visiting kids fresh off the plane.
This is South Florida meets a smidge of Hawaii (tiki torches, bamboo, natch) in a handsome room featuring friendly service that The Monster has always found mostly appealing.
Why not do like The Monster and start off with the baked blue crab cake (delicious, decadent), calamari with creole dipping sauce (decent enough with a great sauce), volcano shrimp with spicy basting sauce (where was the volcano? Where was the spicy?), and papaya and roasted garlic sweet chili glazed shrimp (hmm, not so sweet, still pretty tasty).
For your main you might like the cioppino with shrimp, scallops, fish, clams, mussels, lobster, pearl pasta in a spicy seafood broth (once you add some red chili flakes it ends up being very satisfying).
And of course for dessert you’ll order key lime pie (good but no Joe’s Stone Crab, but nothing is even remotely close).
At the end of the meal you’ll feel just like The Monster, that is to say like a sloth in need of a seriously extended nap.
Why go? Family holidays.
