REVIEW: BAMBOO IZAKAYA

Sometimes you don’t need a lot of words to get the point across.  In the case of Bamboo Izakaya there is not much to say other than…

It was expensive.  And not good.  At all.

You cannot sell something called a baked crab roll when it is really an asparagus roll with a little crab sprinkled on top.  Not for $14.  Also, the chicken tasted nasty.  The Monster always finishes fried chicken.  Not this time.  Oh, and that duck, it tasty gamey.  The Brussels sprouts were good, that The Monster will concede.

You are an asparagus roll with some crab on top.  You are not worth $14.  You make The Monster angry.

You taste weird and the salsa doesn’t work.

IMG_5933

You are stone cold filthy.

IMG_5930

Best thing sampled.  So there is that.

IMG_5934

Meh.

IMG_5936

You make The Monster worried he is going to get sick.

The Monster could go on in scathing detail but he doesn’t even feel up to the normal skewering after such a depressing meal.

Why go?  Don’t.

  1. Sounds/looks awful, presentation of the soba dish is so wrong. Thanks for the warning.

The Monster is a fool!!! Having been married to a beautiful Japanese woman for years and having spent lots of time in Japan…this food is very good and very authentic. He’s obviously never been to Japan where the prices would be double what they are here. But anyone who refers to himself as “the Monster” when rating food, most likely shouldn’t be rating food.

    • Too bad for you The Monster has been to Japan. Irrespective, this meal sucked if served in Japan, LA or the moon. It was not even close in quality to similarly priced places in LA. No amount of shills on Yelp will help, the place was also empty. Hope it improves and succeeds. But we hated our meal.
