REVIEW: KILAUEA FISH MARKET

When visiting the lighthouse or nearby botanical gardens (yawn) stop off at Kilauea Fish Market, a tiny counter order with a limited menu of fish specialties.

With a few tables outside you can picnic with a quick snack ordering their famed ahi tuna wrap.

It is huge so share away.  It is messy. And it is absolutely fabulous.

Seared on the outside, the tuna is superb and the combination of it and a bounty of vegetables all framed in a sundried tomato wrap is sure to satisfy. The creamy Oriental dressing will be dribbling down your chin as you smile away.

With tunes blaring and the sun shining this is a justifiably renowned way to get a little slice of Kauai heaven.

Why go?  Lighthouseshmighthouse.

LOVE the fact you’ve gone to HI and rather than take a break from the blog, you’ve chosen to keep sharing with the world. I’ve been two HI twice and both times found it awfully hard to leave. Btw, give Alan Wong’s a try if you’re in Honolulu – it’s one of our favorites.
